How to Deposit on PokerStars: Cashier, Methods and First-Deposit Bonus (2026)
Every PokerStars deposit goes through the cashier inside the client, the app or the website. Paying in is quick; the details worth slowing down for are the currency of your bankroll, the method you will later withdraw to and the rules of the first-deposit bonus.

The numbers to know first
The minimum deposit is $10, or €10, £10 or C$10 if you fund a bankroll in another currency. PokerStars supports separate balances in US dollars, euros, pounds sterling and Canadian dollars, and you can move money between them under Manage Currencies in the cashier. Conversion uses XE rates refreshed several times a day, with an extra margin on some transactions that the terms of service describe.
Optional auto-convert lets you join tables in another currency, converting the buy-in and any winnings at the current rate.
Which payment methods you will see
The list depends on your country and on which PokerStars site you use. Typical options include Visa and Mastercard, PayPal, e-wallets such as Skrill, Neteller or MuchBetter, Paysafecard vouchers, Apple Pay and local systems like Interac in Canada or PIX in Brazil. Some of them accept deposits only, so a method being on the list does not guarantee you can cash out to it.
The reliable source is your own cashier; without logging in, the official site’s Deposits & Withdrawals page lists methods by country.
Paying in through the cashier
The cashier works the same way on desktop, mobile and the web:
- 1Sign in and open the Cashier from the PokerStars lobby, then choose Deposit.
- 2If this is your first real-money deposit, complete the Real Money form with your personal details.
- 3Pick a payment method and enter its details — card data, wallet login or voucher number.
- 4Type the amount: at least $10 or the equivalent in your bankroll currency.
- 5To claim the welcome offer, follow the instructions on the official promotions page before you confirm.
- 6Confirm the payment, pass any check from your bank, and wait for the email PokerStars sends once the transaction starts.
How the 100% up to $600 bonus pays out
The welcome offer matches your first deposit 100% up to $600 (€500, £400 or C$600), but nothing lands on the balance at once. You earn 5 redemption points for each $1 of rake or tournament fees, and every 75 points releases $5 in cash. Releasing the full $600 therefore takes 9,000 points — roughly $1,800 in rake and fees — within four months.
Up to three qualifying deposits made within 60 days of the first can count towards the maximum, but a withdrawal in between stops later deposits from qualifying. Progress and expiry dates are shown under My Rewards.
Pick the method with the payout in mind
Under the PokerStars withdrawal policy, money is first returned to the methods you deposited with, up to the amount you paid in. A card can receive a withdrawal only if you have deposited with it within the last 12 months and it accepts incoming credits, so a prepaid card or a voucher can leave you needing a second method later.
Use payment accounts in your own name only, and remember that deposited funds must be played through at least once before they can be withdrawn. Depositing and immediately cashing out is not how the cashier is meant to be used.
When a deposit is declined or blocked
If the cashier refuses a payment, check three things: a self-imposed deposit limit (counted over a rolling 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days), the payment method’s own limit, and your bank’s attitude to gambling transactions. Transaction History in the cashier shows the last seven days of activity, which often explains the problem in seconds.
Instead of retrying the same payment, contact live chat with the date, amount and method. A deposit limit matched to your monthly entertainment budget is worth setting too.
FAQ
01What is the smallest deposit PokerStars accepts?
$10, or €10, £10 or C$10 for bankrolls in those currencies. Individual payment methods can set a higher minimum, which the cashier displays.
02Can I keep my balance in euros instead of dollars?
Yes. Besides US dollars, the cashier supports euro, sterling and Canadian dollar bankrolls, and you can convert between them under Manage Currencies.
03Am I obliged to take the welcome bonus?
No. Without it your deposit is simply credited as cash, and the bonus only pays off if you will generate enough rake within four months.
