What Is a Poker Agent and How to Tell an Honest One
In club poker apps you don’t deposit into the app — you deposit with a person. That person is the agent: they sell you chips, cash you out, pay your rakeback and answer your questions. A good agent makes club poker feel like a regular poker site. A bad one is the single biggest risk you take. Here’s how the system works and how to choose well.
Updated: 16 October 2026- An agent is a club member who issues chips to players and cashes them out, because club apps have no cashier.
- Chips flow down a hierarchy: union → club owner → managers → super agents → agents → players.
- The referrer ID you enter when joining ties you to one agent — your deposits, withdrawals and rakeback go through them.
- An honest agent answers about rake, rakeback, chip rate and withdrawals clearly and in writing — before you pay.
Why club apps need agents
ClubGG, PPPoker, PokerBros, X-Poker and Suprema officially run on chips with no cash value. There is no deposit button and no cashier — the apps sell only service items such as diamonds or memberships. Real money enters a club through people: the club issues chips to its agents, and agents pass them on to players in exchange for a deposit.
That’s the key difference from a licensed room like GGPoker, where the room itself holds your money. In a club, the agent is your cashier, your account manager and your support line at once.
The club hierarchy: who answers to whom
Every club app has some version of the same pyramid. ClubGG documents it most clearly, with five roles assigned in Club Menu → Members → Member Role.
| Role in ClubGG | What it can do |
|---|---|
| Master / Creator | Created the club, has every permission, assigns roles. Only the Master can create a union or disband the club. |
| Manager | Almost everything a Master can do, except creating a union or disbanding the club. Unlimited access to club chips. |
| Super Agent | Manages agents and players in their downline, grants chips from their own credit and requests more from the Master or Manager. |
| Agent | Manages the players in their downline, grants them chips from their credit and requests more from their Super Agent. |
| Player | The default role: plays and requests chips from their agent. |
Restrictions travel down the tree: if a manager limits an agent’s access to a game, the limit applies to the agent’s whole downline. Full details: roles and agents in ClubGG.
What an agent actually does for you
The referrer ID: how you get tied to an agent
When you join a club in ClubGG you enter two numbers: the 6-digit club ID and the referrer ID — the in-app ID of the agent who invited you. That second field is what places you in the agent’s downline. From then on, that agent handles your chips and your rakeback.

- Enter the referrer ID only of an agent you’ve already agreed terms with.
- If you leave it empty, the club may assign you to someone — or not approve you at all.
- Switching agents later is only possible through the club manager.

How agents make money
Understanding an agent’s incentives explains most of their behaviour. Agents usually earn a share of the rake their players generate, agreed with the club. Your rakeback is part of that share passed back to you. That’s why an agent wants you to keep playing — and why a generous agent can still be profitable.
Agents also carry risk. In ClubGG an agent grants chips from credit given by the level above, and clubs can set a Stop Limit in the Union Back Office to protect themselves from losses down an agent’s line. When an agent’s players win big and the agent can’t settle with the club, problems start — slow withdrawals are often the first sign.
What an honest agent looks like
- Answers about rake, cap, rakeback and chip rate with numbers — before you deposit.
- Tells you the withdrawal time, minimum and fees without being asked twice.
- Is confirmed by the club manager and appears inside the club with an in-app ID.
- Lets you start small and doesn’t mind a test withdrawal.
- Pays rakeback on a fixed day without reminders.
- Keeps terms the same after you deposit, and announces changes in advance.
- Has been around for a while — players in the club know them.
- Red flags
- Messages you first with a bonus and wants money before your join request is approved.
- Asks for your password, an email code or a payment for the club ID.
- Can’t say what the rake is on your stakes.
- Rakeback is “we’ll discuss later”.
- Asks you to pay a different person or a new wallet each time.
- Withdrawals keep slipping with new excuses.
If the person you’re talking to fails these checks, they may not be an agent at all — see common poker-app scams.
Questions to ask before your first deposit
| Ask the agent | A good answer |
|---|---|
| What’s the chip rate? | A clear number — most often 1 chip = $1 |
| What’s the minimum deposit? | A specific amount; in ClubGG clubs it’s often $10–20 |
| How do I deposit and withdraw? | Named methods: USDT on a stated network, bank, e-wallet |
| How fast are withdrawals? | Within a day; large sums up to 24–48 hours |
| Who pays network or transfer fees? | Agreed in advance, no surprises |
| What’s the rake and cap on my stakes? | A % and a cap in big blinds or chips |
| What’s my rakeback, and when is it paid? | A fixed %, paid weekly on a set day |
| Is third-party software allowed? | A clear rule — in ClubGG, only the built-in Smart HUD and PokerCraft |
Save the answers. If anything goes wrong later, a written agreement is your strongest argument with the manager or the union. More on comparing rake deals: rake in poker apps.
Agent, club or app: who is responsible for what
| Question | Who handles it |
|---|---|
| Deposit, withdrawal, chip balance | Your agent |
| Rakeback and bonuses | Your agent, by the club’s rules |
| Agent not paying or not answering | Club manager or owner |
| Club not paying | Union administration, if the club is in one |
| Login, hacked account, bugs | The app’s support |
| Bots and cheating reports | Club manager and the app’s support |
Switching agents or leaving a club
Unhappy with your agent but like the club? Ask the club manager to move you to another agent’s downline — in ClubGG that’s the only way to change. Leaving the club entirely? Withdraw everything first: in ClubGG the club balance isn’t kept after you leave, and chips from one club can’t be used in another.
Clubs with agents players vouch for
The easiest way to find a good agent is to start from a good club. Clubs in our catalog list their rake and rakeback, and players review payouts and agents.

01Is a poker agent an employee of ClubGG or PPPoker?
No. Agents are members of a club, appointed by the club’s owner or managers. The app provides the software; the club and its agents handle the money.
02Can my agent see my cards?
No. In ClubGG the agent role gives access to chips and downline statistics, not to cards at the table.
03What happens if I join without a referrer ID?
The club may assign you to an agent, or not approve your request because it doesn’t know whose player you are. It’s best to agree terms with an agent first and enter their ID.
04Can I change my agent?
Yes, but only through the club manager, who can move you into another agent’s downline.
05How much rakeback should an agent pay?
It’s negotiated and varies by club. ClubGG clubs in our catalog pay 40–50%. Ask how it’s calculated — a fixed share of your rake is the clearest deal.
06Is it safe to pay an agent in crypto?
The method itself is reliable, but transfers are irreversible. Check the agent through the club first, confirm the network and address, and start with a small deposit.
