Poker Club Froze My Balance: Why It Happens and What to Do

You open the app and your chips are locked, the agent isn’t answering and the tables are greyed out. In club poker apps this happens more often than on regular poker sites, because the club — not the app — controls your balance. Here’s why clubs freeze accounts, what to do right away and how to get your money out.

Updated: 16 October 2026
Key takeaways
  • In club apps your chips sit on the club’s balance, so the club and your agent can freeze them — the app’s support usually can’t unfreeze them.
  • Common reasons: suspected collusion or a second account, banned software, a dispute between your agent and the club, a payment problem or the club shutting down.
  • Don’t leave the club and don’t delete your account — in ClubGG the club balance isn’t kept after you leave.
  • Save evidence, ask for the reason in writing, then escalate: agent → club manager → union.

What a frozen balance actually means

On a licensed site like GGPoker your money sits in the room’s cashier, and the room answers for it. In ClubGG, PPPoker, PokerBros, X-Poker and Suprema there is no cashier: the app runs on chips, and each club issues its own chips through agents. Your balance is a number in the club’s books, and the club’s owner and managers decide what happens to it.

Why the club, not the app, can lock your chips

A “freeze” can look different depending on the club: chips that you can’t cash out, a balance moved to zero “pending review”, tables you can no longer open, or simply an agent who stops replying. In every case it’s a decision made inside the club, which is why the path to fixing it also goes through the club.

Before you do anything else: don’t leave the club and don’t delete your account. In ClubGG a club balance isn’t kept after you leave, and deleting the account wipes everything. While you’re still a member, the chips are still on record.

Why clubs freeze balances

Some reasons are legitimate security checks, others are a sign of a badly run or dishonest club. Knowing which one you’re facing tells you how to talk to the club.

Suspected collusionYou often sat with the same player, shared a network or location, or the hands looked like soft-play. Clubs freeze balances while they review hands.
Multi-accountingTwo accounts from one person, one device or one household look the same to the club. One person — one account is the rule in every app.
Banned softwareReal-time assistants, bots and third-party HUDs are banned in most clubs. In ClubGG only the built-in Smart HUD and PokerCraft are allowed.
Agent disputeYour agent owes the club or fell out with it. The club freezes the whole downline until the agent settles up.
Payment problemYour deposit was reversed, never arrived, or was paid from someone else’s account. The club holds the chips until it’s cleared up.
Club closingThe club is shutting down or leaving its union. Honest clubs announce it and pay everyone out; dishonest ones go silent.

“You win too much” — the uncomfortable one

Some clubs limit or freeze players simply because they’re winning: the club makes its money from rake and from recreational players, and a strong regular is “bad for the ecosystem”. A club is free to stop taking your action, but a fair club does it by letting you cash out and closing the account — not by keeping your winnings. If the only reason given is “you’re winning”, treat it as a red flag about the club, not a rule you broke.

Legitimate check or red flag?

Reason givenWhat a fair club doesRed flag
Collusion reviewNames the hands or the player, gives a time frame, lets you explainNo hands, no deadline, “we just know”
Second accountAsks you to explain or to verify identityRefuses to say which account is linked
Banned softwarePoints to the rule and the evidenceThe rule appeared after the freeze
Agent owes the clubFinds you another agent or pays you directlyTells you it’s “your agent’s problem”
Payment issueShows which deposit is in questionFreezes winnings, not just the deposit in question
You win too muchLets you withdraw, then closes the accountKeeps the balance or lowers it

The first 24 hours: what to do

  1. 1
Stay calm and stay in the club. Don’t leave, don’t delete the app’s data, don’t create a new account to “check” anything — a second account is exactly what gets balances confiscated.
  2. 2
Screenshot everything: your balance, the club page with its ID, your chip transaction history, your recent sessions and your chat with the agent.

  3. 3
Ask your agent in writing for the reason, the rule you supposedly broke and a deadline for the review. Keep the tone polite: you want a written answer, not an argument.
  4. 4
If the agent is silent for a day, write to the club manager or owner. In ClubGG every agent works under the club’s Master or Manager.
  5. 5
If the club is in a union, contact the union’s administration. Many unions keep a deposit-guarantee fund and settle disputes between clubs and players.

Evidence that actually helps

Disputes in club poker are settled by people, not courts, so the side with clear records usually wins. Collect it while it’s fresh — chat history can be deleted and agents can change usernames.

  • Screenshots of your club balance before and after the freeze, with date and time visible.
  • Every deposit receipt: crypto transaction hash, bank receipt or e-wallet confirmation.
  • Your full chat with the agent, including the moment the deposit and chip rate were agreed.
  • The club ID, the agent’s in-app ID and nickname, and your referrer ID.
  • Hand histories of the sessions in question — in ClubGG you can replay every hand in PokerCraft.
  • Any written club rules you were given before playing.
Keep copies outside your phone — in cloud storage or email. If the agent deletes the chat, your screenshots are all that’s left.

If you’re accused of collusion or a second account

False positives happen. Club security sees the same IP address, the same location or the same device and assumes two players are a team. If that’s what happened, explain it plainly and offer proof.

Shared Wi-FiFamily members or roommates on one network look like one person. Say so, and agree to never sit at the same table.
Shared deviceA partner logged into their account on your phone? That alone can link you. Explain and stop sharing devices.
Same locationTables with GPS / IP Restriction exist for this reason: players on one network can’t sit together.
Identity checkSome clubs ask you to confirm your identity. That’s a club rule, not the app’s — ask how the data is stored before sending it.
A ClubGG table marked “GPS/IP restriction” in the top-left corner: players from the same network or location can’t sit here together

If the club says you used banned software, ask which rule and what evidence. If you didn’t use anything, say so and ask for a review of the hands. If you did — for example a third-party HUD — admit it; clubs are more likely to return the deposit to a player who is upfront than to one who argues.

If the agent disappeared or the club is closing

This is the worst case, because the person who took your money is gone. Your options depend on whether the club itself is still alive.

SituationWho to contactWhat to ask for
Agent vanished, club is activeClub manager or ownerMove you to another agent; confirm your balance from the club’s records
Club is closing, owner respondsClub ownerA payout schedule for every balance before the club is disbanded
Club gone silent, in a unionUnion administrationPayment from the deposit-guarantee fund, if the union has one
Club gone, no unionOther players, review sitesLittle can be recovered — warn others and learn the lesson
In ClubGG, disbanding a club deletes all of its chips and credits, and they can’t be restored. If you hear the club is closing, ask for a payout immediately — don’t wait for the last day.

What the app’s support can and can’t do

Players often write to ClubGG or PPPoker support first, and get nowhere. That’s not because support is lazy — the apps simply don’t handle real-money disputes. ClubGG describes itself as an operational tool: it doesn’t mediate between players and clubs, though it does review accounts for bots and shared IP, GPS and device data.

  • Support can help with login, a hacked account, technical bugs and reports of cheating.
  • Support can act on bots and collusion — report hand numbers and nicknames.
  • Support can’t return chips the club froze — the balance belongs to the club’s books.
  • Support can’t force an agent to pay — the money moved outside the app.
  • Support won’t ask for your password or email code — anyone who does is a scammer.

How to make sure it never happens to you

Most frozen balances can be avoided with a few habits. None of them cost anything.

  • One account per person, on your own device and your own login.
  • Never sit at the same table as family members or friends from the same network.
  • No real-time assistants, bots or third-party HUDs — in ClubGG use the built-in Smart HUD and PokerCraft.
  • Pay only from accounts and wallets in your own name.
  • Get the club rules, the chip rate and the withdrawal terms in writing before your first deposit.
  • Make a small test withdrawal after your first session — how deposits and withdrawals work.
  • Withdraw winnings regularly and keep only what you plan to play on the club balance.
  • Don’t
  • Lend your account to a friend “for one session” — that’s account sharing.
  • Move chips between your own accounts or a friend’s through table play.
  • Argue in the club chat before you’ve asked the agent and the manager privately.

Pick clubs with a track record

The best protection is choosing a club that has paid players for years and belongs to a union with a guarantee. Read what other players say about payouts before you deposit, and once your situation is resolved — either way — leave a review: it’s the main thing that keeps clubs honest. Our guide to how to tell an honest agent covers the questions to ask.

Every club in our catalog has player reviews about payouts and disputes. Browse clubs for ClubGG, PPPoker and PokerBros.

FAQ

01Can ClubGG or PPPoker support unfreeze my chips?

Usually not. The chips belong to the club’s balance, and the apps don’t mediate disputes between players and clubs. Go to your agent, then the club manager, then the union.

02Should I leave the club after my balance is frozen?

No. In ClubGG the club balance isn’t kept after you leave. Stay a member until the dispute is settled and the money is paid out.

03How long can a club review take?

There’s no standard — it depends on the club. Ask for a specific deadline in writing. A review with no deadline and no named hands is a red flag.

04Can a club confiscate winnings because I win too much?

A club can refuse to keep you as a player, but a fair club lets you withdraw first. Keeping a winner’s balance is a sign of a club to avoid.

05My family plays in the same club. Is that a problem?

It can be. Shared Wi-Fi and devices make two players look like one. Tell the club in advance and never sit at the same table.

06What if the agent is the one who disappeared?

Contact the club manager: they can move you to another agent and confirm your balance from the club’s records. If the club doesn’t respond, go to the union.
