Poker Club Bonuses: Deposit Bonuses, Leaderboards, Freerolls and Rake Races
Club poker is full of promotions: deposit bonuses, weekly leaderboards, rake races, freerolls, jackpots. Some are genuinely valuable, some are worth less than they look, and “free chips codes” are almost always a scam. Here’s what each bonus actually gives you, the conditions to check and how to compare it with plain rakeback.
Updated: 16 October 2026- Bonuses with real value come from the club, agent or union — never from a promo code you found online.
- Daily bonuses and lucky draws inside the app pay play-money coins, not club chips.
- A deposit bonus is only as good as its wagering conditions — ask how it’s released before you accept.
- For most regular players rakeback is worth more than any one-off promotion.
Which bonuses exist in club poker
App bonuses vs club bonuses

Club apps run on play chips. Daily login bonuses, lucky draws and spin wheels inside the app give you play-money coins — fun for free tables, but they have no cash value and can’t be moved to a club balance. Chips with real value exist only inside a club and only come from its agent after a deposit.
So every bonus worth money is a club, agent or union promotion: it’s offered by people, its rules are set by people and it’s paid through the same agent who handles your deposits. That’s good news — you can ask questions and negotiate — and bad news, because the rules aren’t enforced by the app.
Deposit bonuses and wagering conditions
A deposit bonus adds chips to your deposit — but those chips are usually locked and released step by step as you generate rake or play hands. Before accepting one, get answers to these questions:
| Condition | What it means | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Match | Bonus size relative to the deposit | What % and what maximum? |
| Wagering / release | How the bonus turns into real chips | Released per rake, per hands or all at once? |
| Time limit | How long you have to clear it | What happens to the uncleared part? |
| Withdrawal impact | Whether cashing out cancels the bonus | Can I withdraw my own deposit at any time? |
| Stakes and games | Where the bonus can be played | Does play at every table count? |
Wagering conditions vary by club — there’s no standard. Ask the agent to write them down and keep the message.
Leaderboards
A leaderboard ranks players by hands played or rake paid over a period — a week or a month — and pays prizes to the top places. It rewards volume, so it’s great for grinders and nearly worthless for someone who plays a couple of evenings a month.
- Check before you chase a leaderboard
- What counts: hands, rake, or points — and at which stakes.
- How many places are paid and how the prize pool is split.
- Whether prizes are paid in chips and on which day.
- Whether you can see the live standings.
Rake races
A rake race is a leaderboard on a bigger scale, usually run by a union across all its clubs. Large unions in PPPoker, PokerBros and Suprema run them regularly. Because the field is the whole union, the top places go to the highest-volume players; for most players the realistic value is in the lower prize places, if the race pays deep.
A rake race is a bonus on top of rakeback, not a replacement. If a club offers “rake races instead of rakeback”, compare honestly: a fixed % of your rake is guaranteed, a race prize isn’t.
Freerolls and qualifiers

- Club freerolls — tournaments with no buy-in for club members, often on weekends or for players who reached a volume target. Ask the agent for the schedule or look in the club’s tournament lobby.
- ClubGG branded events — Road to WSOP and WSOP Circuit qualifiers; some stages are open with tickets from the WSOP+ Premium subscription.
- Union tournaments — guaranteed events run across all clubs of a union.
Freerolls are a nice extra, but the prize per player is usually small. Treat them as a bonus, not as a reason to choose a club.
Jackpots: a bonus you help pay for
Bad Beat Jackpots look like a bonus, but they’re funded from the pots you play. In ClubGG the fund isn’t raked and is paid out to players in full: the biggest share goes to the player who lost a very strong hand, part to the winner of the hand and part to the others at the table. The hand must reach showdown, the pot must be at least 10 big blinds and at least 4 players must be dealt in preflop.
Exact shares and qualifying hands are set by the club or union — ask the agent. Details: Bad Beat Jackpot in ClubGG.
Scams with “free chips codes”
Searches for “coupon code”, “promo code” or “free chips” lead straight to scammers. In ClubGG, for example, chips with real value are never handed out by promo code — they come only from the club’s agent. The referral code people talk about is simply the agent’s ID entered when joining a club.
- Typical scam patterns
- They ask for your password or the code from an email “to credit the bonus”.
- They offer a “modified app” or a chip generator to download.
- They ask you to pay a “commission” to receive free chips.
- They write in messengers on behalf of “ClubGG administration” or “app support”.
- They pressure you: “the bonus expires in an hour — deposit now”.
Rakeback vs bonuses: what’s worth more
| Bonus | Guaranteed? | Who benefits most | Main catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rakeback | Yes, if agreed as % of your rake | Every regular player | Formula and payout day must be clear |
| Deposit bonus | Only after conditions are met | Players who would play the volume anyway | Locked funds, time limits |
| Leaderboard | No — depends on your rank | High-volume grinders | Prizes concentrated at the top |
| Rake race | No — depends on your rank | The biggest players in the union | Very large field |
| Freeroll | No — a tournament | Anyone with time | Small prizes per player |
- A bonus worth taking
- The rules are written down before you deposit.
- Your own deposit stays withdrawable at any time.
- It comes on top of fair rake and rakeback, not instead of them.
- The agent pays on time — check with a small first deposit.

01Are there promo codes for free chips in poker apps?
Not for chips with real value. In ClubGG club chips come only from the agent; “codes for free chips” are a common scam. Daily app bonuses give play-money coins only.
02What is a referral code in poker clubs?
The ID of the agent who invited you, entered when you join a club. It links you to that agent’s rakeback and bonuses — it doesn’t give free chips by itself.
03What does wagering mean for a deposit bonus?
The condition for turning bonus chips into real chips — usually a certain amount of rake or hands. Ask how it’s released and whether you can withdraw your deposit at any time.
04Is rakeback better than a deposit bonus?
For most regular players, yes: rakeback is paid every week on everything you play, while a deposit bonus is a one-off with conditions.
05Where can I find poker freerolls?
In your club’s tournament lobby or from your agent. In ClubGG there are also branded qualifiers such as Road to WSOP.
