ClubGG Bad Beat Jackpot

The Bad Beat Jackpot pays out to a player who loses a hand with a very strong combination. The fund builds from a separate fee taken from pots at tables where it’s on, and it all goes back to players. The jackpot amount is shown in the club lobby above the tables. Below — when it triggers, who gets what and what it costs players.

PLOKKKK (quad kings)

Short Deck (6+)AAAA (quad aces)

A club can change the trigger: for NLH from AAA22 up to quad sixes or better. The weaker the trigger, the more often it hits and the less it builds up.

When It Pays

  • The hand goes to showdown and the pot is at least 10 big blinds.
  • At least 4 players were dealt in preflop.
  • Both winner and loser use both hole cards (two hole cards in PLO/PLO5).
  • Quads require a pocket pair.
  • With Run it multiple times only the first run counts.
  • The prize is paid even if the player left the table or disconnected.

Who Gets What

The jackpot splits three ways: the Bad Beat Winner — whose strong hand lost, the Opponent — who beat them, and Rest of Players — each other player in the hand. Shares depend on stakes: at 0.01/0.02–0.05/0.10 it’s 8.25%, 3.75% and 3.00% each for the rest; at 25/50 and up — 44%, 20% and 16% each. The prize goes straight to the balance.

With more than three qualifying hands, the jackpot goes to the player who came second in the hand; other losers get the Rest of Players share.

What It Costs Players

Pots of 10 BB or more at jackpot tables pay a separate fee — even if the table’s rake is zero. It isn’t rake: the fund goes back to players, but those chips leave the pot. The lower the stakes, the bigger the fee in big blinds:

BlindsJackpot fee
0.01/0.02 – 0.05/0.100.60 BB
0.10/0.20 – 0.30/0.600.40 BB
0.50/1 – 2.50/50.25 BB
3/6 – 5/100.12 BB
7/14 – 15/300.06 BB
25/50 and up0.03 BB
The club owner makes the first top-up; after that the fund grows from the table fee. When a club joins a union, the club jackpot is replaced by the union jackpot. How it’s turned on and set up — Bad Beat Jackpot for owners.
How much goes into the Bad Beat Jackpot?
From 0.60 BB at micro stakes to 0.03 BB at 25/50 and up — from pots of 10 big blinds or more. It isn’t rake: the fund all goes back to players.
Does the jackpot work in PLO?
Yes, if the club turned it on for the table; each game has its own trigger — quad kings by default for PLO.
Can I avoid the jackpot fee?
Only by playing tables where the jackpot is off: at a jackpot table the fee is taken from every qualifying pot.
