Poker Unions Explained: How Club Unions Work in ClubGG, PPPoker and PokerBros
Open almost any busy table in ClubGG, PPPoker or PokerBros and the players around you come from a dozen different clubs. That’s a union at work. Here’s how unions are built, what they decide for you, what stays with your club and how to choose a union you can trust with a deposit.

Key takeaways
A club is one lobby with its own owner, agents and players. A union is an alliance of clubs that share tables and one player pool.
You always join a club, not a union — your deposit, withdrawals and rakeback stay with your club and agent.
The union usually sets the rules of shared tables: rake, cap, games and the jackpot.
Choose the union for traffic and reputation, then the club inside it for rakeback and payouts.

What a poker union is
In club apps every club is a small private poker room: it has an owner, managers, agents and its own lobby. On its own, a small club struggles to keep tables running — in the evening there may be one game, at night none. A union solves this: several clubs agree to share their tables, so a player from club A sits down with players from clubs B, C and D. The tables stay full, more stakes and games can run, and every club in the union benefits from the combined traffic.

For the player the union is almost invisible. You find a club by its ID, send a request, get chips from your agent — and in the club lobby you simply see more tables. Behind the scenes the clubs settle results with each other through the union, but your money relationship stays with your club.
Club vs union: what changes for the player
The same app can feel completely different depending on whether your club plays alone or inside a union.
Standalone club
Club in a union
Tables
Only the club’s own
Shared tables of every club in the union
Traffic
Depends on the club; evenings can be empty
Full tables most of the day
Stakes and games
A few popular ones
Wider choice, up to high stakes
Rake on shared tables
Set by the club owner
Usually set by the union for everyone
Jackpot
The club’s own, if any
Often one shared union jackpot
Protection
Only the club’s reputation
Many unions offer a deposit guarantee
A standalone club still has its place: home games with friends, closed communities, a single format nobody else spreads. But if you want action at any hour, you want a club inside a union.
How shared tables work
Here’s what actually happens when you sit at a union table:
1
You join one club by its ID and agree terms with your agent.
2
The agent credits chips to your balance in that club. Chips of one club can’t be used in another club.
3
In the club lobby you see the union’s tables next to the club’s own tables and pick one.Нужен скриншотClub lobby in ClubGG with union tables: the table list where shared union tables sit next to the club’s own tables
4
At the table your opponents come from different clubs of the union. The rake goes into the shared pot of the union and clubs.
5
When you cash out, you go back to your own agent — not to the union and not to the other players’ clubs.
This is why the choice of club still matters inside a big union: the union gives you the field, but your club holds your money.
Who decides what: union vs club
Exact rules differ by app and union, but the split usually looks like this:
Usually the unionRake and cap on shared tables, the game list, jackpot rules, which clubs are admitted, anti-collusion policy.
Usually the clubWho gets in, which agent you belong to, deposit and withdrawal methods, payout speed.
Usually the agentYour rakeback deal, bonuses, the day you’re paid and how fast chips arrive.
Always youWhich club and agent you trust, how much you keep on the balance and when you withdraw.
Two practical consequences. First, on union tables you can’t negotiate the table rake — everyone pays the same — but you can negotiate rakeback, because it comes from your club and agent. Second, two players at the same table can have very different real costs: one with a 50% deal and one with nothing. More on that in our rakeback guide.
Unions in ClubGG, PPPoker, PokerBros and other apps
The idea is the same in every club app; the details differ.
Clubs join a union; the union is shown on the club page
Only the club creator (Master) can create a union; the club jackpot is replaced by the union jackpot; a Stop Limit is set in the Union Back Office at club level
ClubGG club page before joining: the union name is shown right next to the club ID
In ClubGG you can check the union before you even join: the club page shows the club ID followed by the union name. In other apps ask the agent directly which union the club plays in and whether all the tables you see are shared.
Deposit guarantees: what they really cover
Many unions advertise a deposit guarantee — a fund or a promise to cover players if a member club or agent fails to pay. It’s one of the strongest arguments for playing inside a union, but it’s only as good as its rules.
Ask before you rely on a guarantee
Who pays out — the union itself or the other clubs?
Does it cover only club failures or also a single agent who disappears?
Is there a maximum per player or per case?
How do you file a claim and what proof is needed: receipts, transaction hashes, chat history?
Have players actually been paid under it — are there reviews?
A guarantee is a promise, not insurance regulated by anyone. Keep receipts, withdraw winnings regularly and don’t hold more on a club balance than you can afford to lose. If a payout stalls, see what to do when a club freezes your balance.
Pros and cons of playing in a union
Full tablesGames run most of the day, and you rarely wait for a seat.
More stakes and gamesFrom micro stakes to high stakes, plus PLO, OFC, Short Deck and tournaments.
Bigger jackpots and promosA shared jackpot fund grows faster; unions run rake races and leaderboards.
Extra layer of protectionA union can pressure a member club and many keep a guarantee fund.
Rake you can’t negotiateTable rake is the union’s; only your rakeback is up for discussion.
One union, many clubsA weak club or careless agent inside the union can still cause trouble — choose your club carefully.
How to choose a union and a club inside it
Appwhere your games run
Uniontraffic, stakes, reputation
Clubrakeback, payouts, agent
Testsmall deposit and withdrawal
Pick the union first, then the club
Start with the union: it decides whether your game runs and how big the field is. Compare unions by players, clubs and online in our union catalog. Then choose a club inside that union — the club and its agent decide your rakeback, how fast you get paid and who answers when something goes wrong.
A good union and club
The union has run for a long time and has steady traffic at your stakes.
The club is clear about rake, cap, rakeback and payout times before you deposit.
There’s a deposit guarantee with understandable rules.
Players leave reviews about withdrawals, not just about the games.
Your agent answers fast and puts the deal in writing.
Red flags
The agent can’t name the union or says “it doesn’t matter”.
Joining costs money or someone sells you a “union club ID”.
Promises of a guarantee that nobody can explain.
Pressure to deposit fast “before the bonus expires”.
Unions for club owners
If you run your own club, a union is the fastest way to give your players action: instead of building a table schedule from scratch, you plug into existing traffic. In ClubGG only the club creator (Master) can create a union, and the union manages its settings in the Union Back Office. In PPPoker you agree joining with the union’s management. In return you follow the union’s rules on shared tables and settle results with it.
These ClubGG clubs are ranked by player reviews; each club page shows the union, rake, rakeback and chip rate. Unions with their traffic are listed in the union catalog.
An alliance of clubs in a club app such as ClubGG, PPPoker or PokerBros that share tables and one player pool. Players join a club, but play at the union’s shared tables.
02Can I join a union directly?
No. You always join a specific club in the union. Your deposits, withdrawals and rakeback go through that club’s agent.
03Who sets the rake on union tables?
Usually the union, so the table rake is the same for every club. Rakeback is still agreed with your club or agent.
04Is a union safer than a standalone club?
Often yes: a union can pressure a member club and many keep a deposit guarantee. But your money is still held by your club and agent, so choose them carefully.
05How do I know which union a club is in?
In ClubGG the union name is shown on the club page next to the club ID. In other apps ask the agent, and check our club and union catalogs.
